Yes, once your office turns on Walk-in visits in Settings, Business Settings. A caregiver who arrives at a client with nothing booked taps Start a walk-in visit on their app dashboard. The phone finds the client they are standing at from the client's stored location, or they pick the client from a list. The visit starts at clock-in, ends at clock-out, and shows on the calendar and on the client's and caregiver's Visits tabs like any other visit.
Step by step
- Office: open Settings, Business Settings, Walk-in visits and turn it on.
- Choose who can start one: every caregiver, or only the caregiver groups you choose in Accounts, Permissions.
- Choose whether caregivers may pick a client from a list, which clients are offered, and whether the office is told each time one starts.
- Caregiver: at the client, tap Start a walk-in visit on the dashboard.
- Tap the client marked You are here, or pick them from Your clients.
- Tap Start. The visit opens and the usual clock-in starts.
Good to know
- No client is left out. A client with no stored location, or a phone that cannot get a location, can still be picked from the list. Choose Never: only clients they are near under Picking a client from a list if you do not want caregivers to see a client list.
- Already booked? If the caregiver has a visit with that client now, the app sends them to it with Open that visit instead of starting a second one.
- Leave a client out with Never offer these clients, for example a client whose visits the office must always book.
- Your calendar works as before. A walk-in visit is never flagged late, and its card has a door mark so you can tell it apart.
- Started by mistake? The caregiver can remove it before clocking out, with a reason. See the related answer below.
- Nothing on the caregiver's dashboard? Walk-in visits may be off, or their caregiver group may not have Start walk-in visits turned on in Accounts, Permissions. The card is also hidden while they are on a visit.
