How do I get an alert when something happens to a client?

Activity, Alerts, New alert: choose the types of change, the clients or caregivers, and who made it; matches arrive in your bell.

Short answer

Open Activity and choose Alerts, then New alert. Under Tell me when, pick the types of change (for example, a visit canceled or a note added). Under About, choose Any client, Clients I supervise, or specific clients and caregivers, and under Done by pick anyone or certain people. Save alert. Each match arrives in your bell, and Open in Activity takes you to that row.

Step by step

  1. Open Activity in the left menu and choose Alerts.
  2. Choose New alert.
  3. Under Tell me when, pick the types of change you care about. Pick nothing to hear about every kind.
  4. Under About, choose Any client, Clients I supervise, or These clients or caregivers.
  5. Under Done by, pick people, or nobody to hear about changes by anyone.
  6. Give it a name if you like, then choose Save alert.

Good to know

  • From a row: in a row's menu, choose Alert me when this happens for that type of change, or Alert me about the client or caregiver named in it. The new alert starts filled in.
  • Your own changes do not alert you unless you turn on Also tell me about changes I make myself.
  • Pause, change or delete an alert from Alerts on the Activity page, or from My activity alerts in your personal notification settings.
  • Alerts are personal. Each office staff member sets their own; nobody else gets yours.
  • No alert arrived? Check the alert is not paused, and that your agency still records that type of change in Settings.
