Visit Requests
Manage shift swaps, extension requests, open shift broadcasting, time-off requests, and no-show detection — all from one centralized workflow.
Try Scheduling in DemoShift Swap Requests
When a caregiver can't make a shift, they can request to swap with another available caregiver directly through AveeCare. Office staff can review and approve the swap without manual rescheduling.
How shift swaps work
- Caregiver initiates a swap request from their app or portal
- System shows other caregivers available during that time slot
- Requesting caregiver selects a preferred swap partner
- Office admin receives the swap request for approval
- Once approved, the calendar updates automatically
- Both caregivers receive confirmation notifications
Request Initiated
Caregiver A requests swap for Tuesday 9AM shift
Partner Found
Caregiver B is available and accepts the swap
Admin Review
Office admin reviews skills and qualifications
Approved
Swap is approved, calendar updated automatically
Shift Extension Requests
Sometimes visits run longer than planned. AveeCare lets caregivers request shift extensions with an approval workflow so office staff maintain oversight while keeping care flexible.
Caregiver Side
- Request a time extension from the mobile app during an active visit
- Specify the additional time needed and provide a reason
- Continue providing care while the request is pending
- Receive instant notification when the request is approved or denied
Admin Side
- Receive real-time notification when an extension is requested
- See the caregiver's current visit details and reason for extension
- Check for scheduling conflicts with the caregiver's next visit
- Approve or deny with one click — the visit updates automatically
Open Shift Broadcasting
When a shift needs to be filled, broadcast it to all available caregivers. The first to accept gets the assignment. No more calling down a list of phone numbers.
How broadcasting works
- Mark any unassigned or cancelled visit as an open shift
- AveeCare sends push notifications to all available caregivers
- Caregivers see the visit details, patient, and time in the notification
- First caregiver to accept is assigned automatically
- Office staff can restrict broadcasts by skills or geography
- Shift is removed from broadcast once filled

Time-Off Request Management
Caregivers can submit time-off requests directly through AveeCare. Office staff review, approve, and the system automatically blocks those dates from scheduling.
Submit Requests
Caregivers submit time-off requests with dates, reason, and any notes. Requests can be for single days or date ranges.
Review & Approve
Office admin reviews pending requests, sees any scheduling conflicts that would result, and approves or denies.
Auto-Block Scheduling
Approved time-off automatically blocks those dates in the caregiver's availability. Conflict warnings appear if visits exist.
No-Show Detection & Handling
AveeCare automatically detects when a caregiver hasn't clocked in for a scheduled visit and flags it as a potential no-show. Configurable time thresholds and automated alerts keep you informed in real time.
Detection and response
- Configurable grace period before a visit is flagged (default: 15 minutes)
- Real-time alerts to office staff when a caregiver is late
- Automatic push notification sent to the late caregiver
- Option to broadcast the shift to other available caregivers
- Visit status updates to "Late" for tracking and reporting
- No-show history tracked per caregiver for performance reviews
