Open Communication and choose New text. Pick the Clients or Caregivers tab, tick the people (or Select all shown), write your message and choose Send. We use the mobile number on each person's record and show a result for each person. Every text is added to the Communication log. Your agency needs a text-message provider connected in Settings first.
Step by step
- Open Communication and choose New text.
- Pick the Clients or Caregivers tab. Search by name if the list is long.
- Tick each person, or choose Select all shown.
- Write the message. The counter shows how many characters you have used.
- Choose Send. The result lists anyone who was skipped or could not be sent, with the reason.
Good to know
- Up to 50 people and 1,000 characters in one send. A message over 160 characters goes as linked texts, and the modal tells you.
- The number comes from the record. It uses the mobile number first. A person with no usable number is skipped, and everyone else still gets the text.
- Sending the same text twice to the same person within three minutes skips the repeat, so a second press does not text them twice.
- A person who replied STOP shows as not sent, with a reason. Nothing goes to them.
- Send only. Replies go to your agency's number at your provider. They show in Communication only if your provider forwards them.
- Texts are not private. Leave out diagnoses and other health details.
- Who can send? Office users. Caregivers and clients cannot.
