Open Settings, Business Settings tab, Medication Administration (eMAR). Under When caregivers record doses, choose during the visit with check-out catching anything missed (the default), during the visit only, or at check-out only. Under On-time window, set how long before and after its time a dose counts as on time (1 hour each by default). You can also ask why a dose was early or late, and set when the office is alerted to a dose with no record.
Step by step
- Open Settings and choose the Business Settings tab.
- Scroll to Medication Administration (eMAR) and make sure eMAR is on.
- Choose when caregivers record doses.
- Set the on-time window before and after each dose. The example below it shows what an 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM visit lists.
- Set the alert, PRN follow-up and back-dating times, then save.
Good to know
- Which doses a visit shows: the Medications tab and check-out list the doses whose on-time window overlaps the visit, so a 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM visit is not asked about a 6:00 PM dose, and an overnight shift keeps its 10:00 PM dose.
- Early or late doses are marked on the MAR, and the MAR PDF lists each with its due time, time given and reason.
- Back-dating: a caregiver can enter a dose given up to 12 hours ago by default. Older doses are added by the office on the eMAR page.
- Untouched settings keep the defaults, so turning on eMAR needs no setup here.
