Electronic visit verification vendors: who they are and how to pick

The major EVV vendors used by US state Medicaid agencies and home care providers in 2026 are Sandata, HHAeXchange, Tellus/Netsmart, AuthentiCare (First Data/Fiserv), CareBridge, and DataLogic/DCI. Sandata and HHAeXchange dominate state-aggregator contracts; Tellus is strong in Florida; AuthentiCare and CareBridge cover smaller portfolios. Most EHR / home care platforms (AveeCare, AxisCare, AlayaCare, WellSky Personal Care) export visit data to whichever aggregator your state uses, rather than acting as the aggregator themselves.

Open-model states list multiple approved vendors and provide an aggregator hub. In open-model states, no — your EHR can capture EVV and export to the state aggregator. In closed-model states (PA, OH, MA, MS, NJ, FL, others), the state requires you to use the state-contracted aggregator for the EVV submission step regardless of your EHR. Most agencies in closed-model states use the state aggregator for EVV plus a separate EHR for scheduling, billing, and care plans.
